Smoothies are a big hit right now. They’re convenient, delicious, and healthy but is there a right way to make a smoothie and what’s the secret?
Just make it S-M-O-O-T-H.
S – Smooth Texture
If you want to have a smooth texture the key is to use less ice. To achieve this, freeze any fruits you want to include in your smoothie, and be sure to make all your frozen ingredients two-thirds of the entire recipe.
M- Matched Combos
There are different pairings to ensure a healthy and delicious blend. Try and incorporate both fruits and vegetables into your smoothie to ensure you’re getting the best of both worlds.
Strawberries & kale are a good combination of fruit and vegetable or add a banana with a handful of spinach too! Experiment and have fun to see what you enjoy!

O- Oil as an ingredient
Did you know oil can be added to make a creamy texture? One great example is coconut oil – using an oil that has incredible benefits can be a great way to incorporate into your smoothies to ensure your smoothie is jam-packed full of goodness! Just be weary though, for those watching the calories, adding oil can end up making your smoothie higher in calories. For a low calorie alternative, try almond milk or even just water!
Try this tropical smoothie: Blend together 1 cup of frozen pineapple, 1 tsp Organic Green Charge, 1 frozen banana, 1 cup fresh kale, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and enjoy!
T – Texture is everything
