Healthy people did not become healthy overnight. They equipped themselves with the right information on having a lifestyle they can enjoy. Noticeably, they make sure to practice each good habit consistently.
Starting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle may be a challenge, but there are ways to make it interesting and sustainable. Here are 6 habits that everyone can try to become happy and healthy:
Plan meals ahead and stick to it no matter what.
It is common to plan meals and be utterly determined to eat well. But then, during grocery shopping, “food temptations” start to come in. Who wouldn’t want a few bites of chocolates and chips? Acknowledge this trait and be sure not to fall into the trap!
Have a bottle of water in hand.
Carry a bottle of water every single day. Water is known to aid in weight loss so it is good to keep a bottle in handy. To make plain water more nutritious, add a teaspoon of our Berry Boost or Green Charge superfood powder. Both can provide nutrients and antioxidants to keep a strong and fit body.
Take a break by walking.
Maximise break time by taking a walk every day. While at it, try to do stretches and lunges to get all the muscles involved. Fitness experts recommend achieving 10,000 steps a day – do this if possible.
Limit screen time.
A healthy lifestyle does not only consist of diet and exercise, it should also target good mental health. Prolonged screen time releases a hormone called dopamine, which can lead to negative effects on impulse control. It may be better to limit screen time to 2 hours a day and do fun activities instead.
Sleep does not only allow the body to rest, but it can also improve mood and memory. Be sure to get a good night’s sleep by maintaining a regular sleeping time. 7 to 9 hours of sleep is ideal to keep the body functioning well.
Balance daily life.
There should be ample time for work, family, and “me time.” It is important to keep things balanced to prevent stress. Try and have “me time” at least 1 hour daily. Then, plan a schedule to make sure that work does not get in the way with family (and friends!) time.
